Help Support Roberta's Miracle: A Fight for Life

As much as finances are helpful, connections in the situation are even more valuable. My mom is a fighter, and going through the biggest fight of her life.

A few days ago, my mom had to go for emergency surgery because they found a large blood clot in her abdomen. She had a few others as well. Because of this, the blood flow was cut from her small intestine.

The doctors and surgeons tried their best to give her intestines time to create blood flow, but in her second surgery they discovered something they didn’t expect, and had to cut out a large portion of her small intestine, leaving her with only about 3 feet left. They said that that portion still looked like it was dying, but wanted to give it a chance. Sadly, in her third surgery, they discovered that the tissue was necrotic, and they had to cut more. With that, they said what she had left was still rapidly dying.

Instead of taking comfort measures to help with her pain she is choosing to continue medical treatment to stay alive as long as she can.

She is only 46 years old. Her big 47 is coming up in September. The doctors said they’ve never seen someone at her age have the blood clots she did. She is the strongest woman I know. Loves animals. Helps take care of everyone around her even when she is struggling herself, and now I’m asking for help to help her.

She can’t survive with the little bit of small intestine she has left. There are only few places in the United States that perform Small Intestine Transplants, the closest that we know being in Washington D.C. If we have to get her there, we will.

Massachusetts General is the largest transplant hospital in New England. I’ve seen that Boston Children’s have performed Small Intestinal transplants on children. I’m asking that everyone share this to any doctor they know and help find a way. Anything is possible and my mom deserves much more time. She is a fighter, she’s strong, and she’s willing to experiment if it means another chance at life.

Donations are appreciated as well to help with any finances that are occurring (unexpected medical bills, aftercare, etc.). I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read my mom’s story and help in any way. Thank you, please pray and help manifest for my mom to get a transplant and have a chance to survive this.❤️
