My name is John-Marc Curran and I am asking you to help my brother Robert and his family.
Robert and his wife, Shannan, live in a small Kentucky home with their 5 children and Shannan's mother. Rather, I should say, "lived," as just earlier today their house caught fire and burned down along with everything they own. Fortunately, everyone got out alive; but they are now homeless in the barely 50 degree Kentucky weather with one of their children being left in only his underwear. Neither they nor the landlord have insurance on either the home nor the assets.
Robert has suffered several injuries over his life that have greatly decreased his ability to perform manual labor. A few years ago, he shattered his knee on the job and had to have surgery just to recover his ability to walk. Because of his injury, he can no longer continue to work in his field of expertise, construction, and has had to take a job that earns him half of what he made. If it wasn't already hard enough to provide for himself and 7 other people, you can only imagine how much more devastating it is to lose your home and all of your belongings when you can barely work as it is.
The funds raised will be used to: provide food and temporary shelter for the family while they look for a new home; provide them with the means of being able to move into a new place; furnish the new place with essential furniture; and give them the ability to continue to pay their bills and provide for themselves, the children, and grandmother while they are going through this disaster. I cannot imagine Robert being able to go to work with his wife, 5 children, and mother-in-law sleeping in the car in the Walmart parking lot.
This happened in the blink of an eye. They had no means of preparing for such a tragedy and every dollar that can come quickly will be a tremendous help to the family just to survive.
Our entire extended family would be so humbled and thankful to all of you who can offer your help to my brother and his family. We have faith that the Lord will provide all that is needed, and we thank you for being instruments of His love and provision in the lives of this family.
