My name is Cathy Mars and I have started this GoFundMe for my brother-in-law and his family. We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support during an incredibly difficult time for our family. On September 6th, our beloved Robert Verrier suffered an ischemic stroke in the brain stem and was also found to have a brain aneurysm. He now has some brain damage due to this combination of issues. Since then, he has been in the hospital fighting to regain basic functions like moving, swallowing, and speaking. The road ahead will be a long, long one and full of challenges, but we are determined to help him get the care he needs to recover. Robert is in critical need of extensive physical therapy, speech therapy, and neurological care, which is not covered by Medicaid in Florida unless you put him in a nursing home or send him to Hospice. This is why we are raising funds on behalf of my sister, April Verrier, and her husband, Robert Verrier. April, who has been by Robert's side every step of the way, has shown incredible strength and love through this heartbreaking time. She's not only holding it together for Robert, but also for her eight children, grandchildren, and extended family; all of whom are devastated by this sudden and life-changing event with Rob at a mere 48 years old.
