To friends, family and everyone who may come across this page; I must begin by letting you all know how overwhelmed with sadness I am and how difficult it is to have to sit down and write something like this...
My aunt Elizabeth and uncle Robert were stopped at a red light on SR 44 in DeLand when they were suddenly rear ended at full speed. This horrific accident resulted in the tragic and unexpected death of my uncle Robert. Aunt Elizabeth is currently in the ICU at Halifax Hospital and will be monitored 24-7 for the next couple weeks.
Orlando Sentinel Article
My uncle Robert had the kindest and most artistic soul. He enjoyed the salty air of NSB, painted beautiful portraits, wrote many songs and always played his guitar for his wife and dog(son), Jack. He was an adjunct professor in the Arts department at Daytona State College and also worked with his wife as an appraiser. My aunt Elizabeth has just one request and that is for us to plan a funeral service for her husband, Robert. This is something she can't do, as she will be in the ICU/hospital for the next couple of weeks.
This is a devastating time and came on so unexpectedly. Please consider helping my family and aunt Elizabeth raise funds for my uncle Robert, so we can give this wonderful man the memorable tribute he deserves. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers these last few days, it is greatly appreciated by all.
I'd like to end by saying, don't sweat the small stuff because life is just too short. Hug your family and friends just a tad tighter and a bit longer. Always tell them you love them and show them how much you care. Life is unpredictable and sometimes unfair, so cherish the moments that actually matter. Thank you in advance for your donations.
We are so grateful.
