Robert Stein's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Robyn and I am Robert Stein's fiance. Robert was in a serious motorcycle accident on Wednesday October 4th. He was on 79 north with his son Chris following behind on his bike. The death wobble occured, forcing Robert to lose control and he was thrown to the side of the road, crashing into a steal sign and landing in a large puddle of toxic mud, ultimately cushioning his slide. His son Chris is unharmed and played a heroic role, calling 911, staying calm and staying next to his father's side every step of the way.
By the grace of God, he is still with us today. He sustained a severe large open fracture of his left arm, wrist and hand. He has mild fractures in his spine as well as lung contusions from blunt trauma to his chest. He has some road rash and burns however all things considered, it could have been so much worse. He has undergone 3 surgeries so far to repair bones and clean out a large amount of mud and contamination from his arm. He has an unknown amount of surgeries still to come. Trauma team are watching closely for infection.
Robert was the provider and rock for his 4 children and fiance. He obviously has had to step down from this role while he recovers in Mercy hospital in the trauma unit. Asking for help is not something he does proudly. His discharge to be sent home is unknown at this time as everything is based on how each of his surgeries go and what they find as the contamination is cleared.
I am asking for any financial help during this time to keep up with living expenses, monthly bills, rent, travel and hospital expenses, etc. Any monetary help is appreciated but if not, prayers and positive thoughts are encouraged and welcomed. I will do my best to keep this updated after each surgery.
UPDATE OCT. 12, 2023:
Today should be his final surgery. He will be getting plastic surgery for 8 hours while the ortho team repairs his bones. This will be a long day and ask that you all keep him in your prayers!
