UPDATE: It's with sadness that I share the news that my father, Robert Rannie, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. He was 91. Below is the original message I posted on GoFundMe. Robert Rannie has led an adventure-filled life: Boy Scout, teacher, spelunker, canoer, computer programmer, flint-and-steel firebuilder, soldier and Dad. In 2019 he was diagnosed with vascular dementia and over the past six years he's been traveling toward what Peter Pan called the awfully big adventure. The cost of his care has increased exponentially with each passing year and, hesitatingly, I'm reaching out to all of you for aid in balancing out his account and help in providing for his final days.
