My name is Robert Liebowitz, a lifelong New Yorker. I am running for Mayor of New York City in next year's election as an independent, write-in candidate.
The reason is simple and straightforward--the insanity that hovers over my beloved city, created by the people that govern it, must end.
I've been a real working person since I am 15--that's 45 years and counting. I am also an artist of some renown (playwright). I've never been a politician, and I've never been wealthy. However, I believe this combination can provide unique insight on how to return the Big Apple to its former glory, and address issues that need to be addressed...real issues like Education, Infrastructure, and The Racial Divide.
I am also tired of being treated like a second-class citizen simply because I live in the outer boroughs.
I know these are not the best of times to ask for money; believe me, I get it. Still, we need to create a website, hire a Campaign Manager, and start to organize a grass-roots movement from the ground up...hoping, in the end, to make a real difference in people's lives.
To see where I stand and what I am about, I refer you to the Facebook Group of the same name.
We'd like to hit the ground running in mid-October.
Any donation--of any amount--will be graciously and humbly received.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Robert Liebowitz
