Donation protected
Robert Andrew Leu, Sr. passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020 surrounded by friends and family at UTMC. He was born to Reverend William G. Leu, Sr. and Margery Leu in South Toledo on August 6, 1958 at the age of 62. Surviving family includes his brothers Kenny and Nate Leu and his sister Darlene (Linda) Leu, his children: Robert, Jr., Michael, Shane, Jeremy, and Sara, grandchildren: Aiden, Addison, Riley, Spencer, Harper, John, Marley, Lilly, Karmonee, and Laylani, and his longtime best friend who became family Robert Schaefer. Robert, Sr.(Bobaleu) is preceded in death by his parents and brother, William (Bill) G. Leu, Jr. and Clifford (Cliff) Leu.
Robert, Sr. was a martial arts instructor for several years. He taught many South Toledo families the life long lessons martial arts has to offer. Rob was a defender of the meek, he was gentle and kind but stood up for what was right or for those who couldn’t. He was a soldier of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he always had God in his heart never forgetting how and who raised him. He loved fishing and getting together with friends and family. He enjoyed sharing his creativity by painting and drawing as a pastime. He loved all the disco and classic rock songs and knew them by heart. Robby was strong, had a good heart, and great intentions.
When Robert Leu, Sr. passed he was comfortable and at peace with his son, Michael, at his side. An infection unfortunately became too hard for his body to fight off, and even though this happened suddenly he was strong enough to hold on and say good-bye and express his love to his family members and friends.
In keeping with Rob’s wishes there will be a viewing on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home located at 3838 Airport Highway, Toledo, OH 43615. Please bring any photos you would like to display or share with the family. There will also be time to say a few words or memories if you wish. There will be a celebration of life gathering at his favorite bar, Crox directly following the viewing located at 1776 Arlington Avenue, Toledo, OH 43609 where there will be light refreshments provided. Masks will be required at both facilities. If you wish to contribute and ease the financial burden of his passing please donate here, or to the Venmo account @Michael-Leu-Toledo, or cash directly to his son Michael Leu.
