Hi, My name is Lou. I am Robert's dad. Years ago when Robert was in high school, I was disappointed in him for not getting A's. I didn't know In the Baptist Church youth group, Robert had gotten hooked on Jesus and began a life long dedication to Him as a non-denominational minister. When he was out of work he began an outreach for high schoolers and young adults starting a free coffee shop in his basement where they could come to study. It was called Lost and Found. Soon after that he made a trip downtown to help a friend pass out food to the homeless. The experience awoke a passion that reflected the groups name Lost and Found. Each week he made 30 gallons of soup and on Tues. and Thurs. they traveled downtown to fed and care for the poor and homeless in Chicago from lower Wacker Drive to China town and between the lake and the river. Each trip he would look for the homeless and bring them soup, water, fruit, clothing, blankets almost everything that we use on an everyday basis. He would still be feeding them today but his bus they used broke down and he cant afford the repair cost. Now even his personal vehicle has broke down.
He has fed thousands, given out thousands of blankets and sleeping bags, tarps, batteries, and supplies, whatever his people needed year after year. He tries hard to remember each and every one of their names. He gets personally involved into their lifes and helps those who want to be off the streets a reality. Even to the point of bringing them to his home until they have saved enough to get their own place.
Now there is the ministry to the youth, young adults and seniors of NWI. He teaches bible classes, science club, art club, family trivia night and the list goes on. One of the things I am most proud of his work here is that there are young adults that are here because of Roberts personal care, attention and mentoring. There are parents who did not loose their children to suicide because Robert was persistently there. When these kids thought they were alone and felt there was no way out Robert was there.
He has never asked for money and ministers to all in need. He just wants people to know that God loves them. My wife gave him our back up car, but now it wont start. He needs help, but won't ask for it so I am. He needs people of faith to help him serve the poor and forgotten. He struggles to pay his rent at his Warehouse 18 ministry in Schererville Indiana and really needs consistent donations. Will you step up and support him so he can continue Jesus' work? Let him see God's love for him through your loving support. Thanks.
