On March 30th, just 5 days after being admitted to the hospital, and at the young age of 40, Robert Karp left his earthly body and began his heavenly journey. While some would say that this journey began too soon, others would say that it was time for his suffering to end. Robert endured almost 30 years of a condition called Cavernoma (vascular malformations) of the brain. This illness caused Robert many complications over the years, including brain aneurysms, brain surgery, and partial paralysis of his right side. Robert endured so much but he persevered and was a fighter. He was also a father, a brother, a son, a nephew, and a friend to so many. Lastly, Robert was a very spiritual person, always reading and researching religions and cultures. He read the Bible, the Torah, the Quran and was always fascinated by his Native American (Yaqui) roots.

Robert’s family and friends would love to celebrate him in a way that would honor his life and his divine spirit. To embrace Robert’s love for spirituality, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be joined with the earth to nourish the growth of a tree. A celebration of life will also be held for Robert in the fashion of a traditional Yaqui funeral ceremony at an outdoor location. 

Since Robert’s departure was sudden and abrupt, his family has not had much time to plan for arrangements and would be extremely appreciative to anyone willing and able to donate funds for these plans. All donations would go towards a Heritage Tree ceremony through Better Place Forests (ranging in cost of $5,900 to $8,000) and a celebration of life event (estimated cost of $700).
