Robert Jason Ibarra for Funeral & Medical Expenses

Donation protected
We are heartbroken to share the passing of my dad, Robert "Jason" Ibarra. He was a man who brought lots of laughter and joy to everyone he met. He loved his family and looked forward to our large family gatherings.
At the age of nineteen he was diagnosed with a kidney disease, IGA Nephropathy, that he battled for five and a half years on dialysis. January 3, 2007, a family friend, Angelica Felice Martinez (Angel), blessed him with a gift of a new kidney as a living donor which gave him seventeen good, healthy years. Throughout that journey he continued to endure some health complications due to his initial kidney disease. His health never stopped him. At a young age his favorite uncle modeled an honorable work ethic that he followed all of his life. Since I was a young girl all I've ever seen is him working or in the hospital hooked to a machine.
In December of 2023 he was told his transplanted kidney was failing and had to go back on dialysis at home for eight-hour treatment seven days a week. He was absolutely devasted to say the least. He had hoped for another transplant and was determined to continue with his hard work ethic. Unfortunately, this time dialysis took a toll on him, and he endured several complications throughout the year. Several hospital stays due to high blood pressure leading to a minor stroke in June of 2024. Shortly after, complications arose here and there, a very serious port infection occurred that caused a terrible ripple effect. This led to him going back to a dialysis clinic three days a week. He never fully recovered from the infection, it led to more heart disease issues and further weakened his heart. Being as determined as he was, he kept doing what he loved, working as a foreman for a striping company and taking on a new job. Due to the infection hospitalization, and his probationary period at work, the company let him go one week before Christmas. Therefore, losing his medical benefits and his insurance.
On the morning of January 9, 2025, he suffered cardiac arrest at home with his parents. All of the effort to keep him here with us was impossible. Medical staff did all they could, but his body was so tired. He fought a long, hard battle that will be remembered by his family and friends. We ask that you find it in your heart during this difficult time for our family to help us give him the funeral service he deserves. My family and I are forever grateful and indebted to you. God bless.
