Robert Hadaway's brain tumor surgery

Donation protected
Robert unexpectedly suffered a 'grand mal' seizure on Saturday evening, January 9, 2021 while at Bear Lake with his family.  Rob's wife Megan is an RN who coincidentally works as a clinical nurse coordinator for the epileptic clinic at the University of Utah. When Rob fell and began to seize, she quickly rushed to help him.  The seizure lasted between 3-5 minutes.  After it subsided, Rob had a long period of memory loss and was unable to recall his name, job, family, place of residence, etc.

911 was called during the seizure and first-responders took him by ambulance to the Logan hospital, Rob first realized something had happened as he was on route to the hospital.  A few hours later, a CT-scan discovered that his seizure had been caused by a brain tumor, the prognosis they feared.

The next step for Rob was an MRI.  Performed on January 12 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), it showed the tumor's location in his temporal and frontal lobes.  His neurosurgeon will remove the tumor in the temporal lobe, but she is not confident that she can to remove all of the tumor in the frontal lobe- we are praying she can.   Rob's brain surgery is scheduled for January 29 at the HCI.  After surgery, the tumor will be tested and diagnosed giving Robert and Megan the information they need to determine Rob's next treatment, which could be chemotherapy or radiation.

Robert works as a software engineer at Thatcher Company.  Up to this point, Robert has been working diligently toward completing his an MBA and a Masters degree in Information Systems at the University of Utah.  He is now beginning his final semester.  He and Megan made the difficult decision to sell Rob's car as he can no longer drive alone until he is fully recovered.  They're looking for other ways to cut expenses, such as selling their home as they know large medical bills lie ahead for them.  They have been blessed that they both can work from home to monitor Rob with his new health risks.

Rob and Megan have two baby girls, Anna (2) and Elizabeth (ll mos). We're hoping and praying that Robert will recover quickly and that he'll be able to continue his life in health with his beautiful family.

Please donate what you can! And please pray for Rob and his family during this difficult time.  Donated funds will be used to pay for the many medical bills and other expenses that will accrue as Robert will be unable to work because of the operation, recovery, and future treatments.
