Robert Greatrex’ Funeral, fit for a King
Donation protected
On behalf of the Greatrex family, who have sadly lost the man who meant the most to them, the glue to their foundations, a dearly loved husband, father and grandfather, I ask for your support.
On the 21st of May 2019, Rob and Diane along with their daughters and grandchildren flew to Turkey to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. After arriving, they all got together to go out for a nice meal to celebrate. Rob had mentioned to Diane that he was feeling tired, and so they carried on back to their hotel for an early night, while the rest of the family took the children for a walk. Soon after arriving back at the hotel, Rob had a shower before returning to the bedroom area. Within the blink of an eye, Diane’s worst fears were right there in front of her. Rob was suffering from a heart attack. He collapsed right in front of her, where Diane without even thinking, began to administer CPR. Scared and alone, Diane did all she could. Finally she managed to get some help from staff at the hotel before the ambulance crew arrived to take over. Heartbreakingly, despite all of their best efforts, sadly Rob could not be saved. Rob and Diane’s son, who had stayed in the UK had to hear the devastation over the phone. The family were, and still are so lost and broken.
On a day that started so lovingly, so quickly ended in sorrow and pain.
Rob was Diane’s King, and her his Queen, or shall I say petal, as he always called her. He was the class clown with his classic one liners. Rob touched the hearts of all who crossed paths with him, and he would give his time to anyone who ever needed it. Nothing ever asked of him was ever any trouble. He adored his Grandchildren, having his own nicknames for them all.
Rob deserves the absolute best send off ever imaginable, and I am sure all of you who knew him would love to help make that possible. Being able to take away the worry and stress of this is the least we can do for the family. The smallest of donations will go so far, and help to send him on his way to heaven like the true gentleman that he was.
To each and every one of you who take the time to even just read this, share it or even just like it, I thank you.
Fly high Rob, we will miss you forever
