"Reliable Wife" Author Robert Goolrick Needs Help!
Donation protected
Robert Goolrick, author of A Reliable Wife (2009) and the memoir The End of the World as We Know It needs your help. Robbie has recently been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and also suffers from severe fibromyalgia and other heath problems. His book royalties and Social Security are no longer enough to keep him in his apartment, pay for expensive medicines, and generally provide him with the care he needs. At age 72, he and Judge, his ancient spaniel, are looking to move out of Baltimore and return to Virginia. Ideally, he'd like to find a small handicap-accessible place that he could lease long-term or purchase without a mortgage. He's got another couple of books in progress, so who knows what new characters he will bring to life, given the opportunity? Though we -- Robbie's older brother, B., and B.'s wife, Faye (author of this appeal) -- and other family members have been helping Robbie intermittently with small donations and moral support, we simply do not have the assets to help him in a more permanent, substantial way. Therefore, we're turning to you, his readers. If you've ever read and been moved by anything written by Robert Goolrick, or if you think our nation's authors and other creative types might occasionally need a bit more support than us ordinary mortals, then please give. Thank you.
