My name is Raven, and most of you who know me know my father Robert as well.

My dad has always been one of those people who would give the last shirt off his back if he thought it would help someone else. He's taken in countless of our friends as his own when they needed a place to stay and has donated countless hours of his life to the local community, helping raise money to help those in need.

Now he's the one who needs help.

We lost my mother thirteen years ago to heart complications, and now this past week, my dad has been diagnosed with severe heart failure due to Congestive Heart Failure, severe Aortic Stenosis, and an aortic blockage. We have begun the long process of appointments to put a plan together, but my dad will be out of work for the foreseeable future while we get him taken care of and figure out what his new normal looks like.

His health insurance will not cover 100% of his expenses, especially where he will need dental care before he can have any major heart surgery. He also lives paycheck to paycheck, and while we are applying for PFML, it will not pay out 100% of his wages and it does not pay out immediately.

My dad hates asking for help, and if he knew I was making this, he would probably tell me not to, but I don't see any other solution out there. The future is uncertain. He may be unable to return to work and forced to retire on disability, or he may recover well and be able to return to work. Either way, doctors estimate he will be fully out of work for at least 2 months.

I know everyone is struggling right now, but if you're able to help out, it would mean the world to us. Even if all you're able to do is share this fundraiser with others.
