Robert and Gertrude Barry Medical/Auto payoff
Donation protected
Trudy is now receiving bobs pension witch has allowed her to keep her medical insurance and gives her just enough money to not loose the house. The donations kept us afloat during all this so thank you all so much. The only issue we have now is the car my mom uses for dialysis is still in bobs name and we don't want to lose it or the money we have paid for it so far. If we were able to pay it off we would be able to transfer it to Trudy's name. It would also help my dads pension go further each month and give my mom a much more comfortable budget. I believe the payoff is around 12K so the goal has been reduced now that my father has passed. Thank you all
My mother Gertrude was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis many years ago. The treatments have been hard and now she does dialysis 3 times a week to stay alive. On top of all that she has a clogged artery problem that might require surgery. Through it all my father Robert has been her rock! He has done whatever it takes to be there for her. He has worked 70 plus hours a week to be able to pay the medical bills and keep the house. His main job is at the Dennis Ma. Police station as a maintenance man but has always worked atleast two jobs. This is unsustainable now because my father was just diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in his lungs. His doctor thinks it will be a tough road ahead. He had a biopsy and PET scan to rule out any more sites. The PET scan confirmed that so far there are only two sites but the biopsy determined that he is going to need chemotherapy and radiation treatment before the attempted removal of one spot in his lung and one lymph node. We do not know what the future holds but Prayers and some luck it could still be bright! My parents are wonderful people and my father is a U.S. Air Force veteran! We are trying to raise money for living expenses and medical bills. Our aim is to reach the goal in one year's time! We will post updates on the situation when we know more. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
12/30/2018 Bob went back in the hospital yesterday with severe stomach pain. They found more cancer in his stomach and tell us it is very aggressive. They dont think they can do anything but try to keep him comfortable. The Dr. Is going to see us tommorow to give us more info. Update- My fathers cancer is now stage 4. They found more in his adrenal gland and also found gallstones but he is too week to have his gallbladder removed right now!
1/1/2019 The cancer is so aggressive and Bob is in way too much pain so he wants to end all treatments so he can be put on comfort care where they can give him more and better pain medication so he doesn't have to suffer. We are hoping he will be in less pain and get to come home soon. I will let everyone know when he is home and comfortable so he can handle visits. Thank you too everyone for all your love and prayers.
1/5/2019 Bob can no longer walk , eat, or talk. He is medicated for comfort and his wife and daughter are staying day and night with him at the hospital. Our hearts are broken but we do not want him to suffer. He does not have much time left so we are trying to convey as much of our love to him as we can. We want to thank everyone for their love and prayers.
1/6/2019 My father is in heaven with his son Robbie. We are devastated by the loss of such a wonderful person!
