Help Robert & Betty Save Their Home From Termite Damage
Donation protected
Robert and Betty Bivins, a Los Angeles couple ages 80+, may soon face an eviction-foreclosure on their family home of 38 years. After an emergency termite damage assessment, the HOA is demanding $52,552 in termite remediation repairs plus nearly double the monthly fees from each of the 74 townhome owners.
As Robert, a retired school bus driver, and Betty, a retired laboratory scientist, live on a fixed income, they cannot afford these unexpected costs. Due to termite damage, they are unable to sell the home or pursue alternative equity options. This home is their forever place, and they desperately want to avoid homelessness. Robert has five adult children and eleven grandchildren, and while family has tried to help, it is not enough. Please help them keep their home, where they hope to remain for the rest of their lives.
Attached is a redacted copy of the HOA assessment.
"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:23-25 NIV
