Some of you may know that my dad, Robert Kirby, was diagnosed with lymphoma earlier this year and has been going through chemotherapy for the last couple of months. My mom, Lisa, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery in the upcoming weeks. They are self-employed and have a non-traditional health insurance plan that covers a limited amount of their medical bills. My sister and I are starting this fundraiser as a way to ask for assistance in raising funds to help cover their life-saving treatment.
