We lost a wonderful father, husband and friend. Bob (Robert) W. Allen passed away on Febuary 1st, 2017. Although we are saddened by the loss of such an great man, in his final days he often said "It's time for me to go home to Jesus". His heart condition had finally became too much for his body to bare. He will be remembered as a loving family man devoted to Christ with a large heart.

"We were married June 25, 1983. We had a divorce in 1999. I began to date him again over the phone and I moved to Michigan from Pittsburgh December 2013. From that point until February 1, 2017, we were together, and remarried December 18, 2016.

In family life, Bob enjoyed being at home, cooking, canning, and he had a garden in Edinboro. Once we moved to Virginia, we would swim with our daughters and bike ride. Bob's jobs in Virginia kept him traveling a lot but he would spend time with us at home. Providing for our family was Bob's first commitment in addition to helping them come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

As a choir director I would ask Bob to play guitar while I did piano. We often provided the music for many church services and he enjoyed this. Bob and I accompanied a soloist who won 2nd prize in a talent show in Pennsylvania through the Assemblies of God.

Bob and I loved music and frequently he would sing and play guitar with the kids. He taught them to love music and Gabrielle played drums and saxophone. Susan was a natural on the guitar and piano and singing. In fact Gabrielle and Susan both sang well. Audrey was our artist.

I will remember Bob as someone who laid down the example of a person who would DO rather than just talk. He showed extreme commitment to his family.

After our daughter, Gabrielle passed, he often said, "She gave up her life for her family - she kept working that they would have a good life". In the same way, I leave us with this thought: Bob Allen gave up his own life in every way to exemplify the Lord. Many times I would feel discouraged and he would say, "Cathy, it's okay, you're gonna make it". He did not speak negatively about others. He had a very kind heart."
