Hello, my name is Ruby and in 2018 I re homed two geese; I named them Robbie and Stevie.

Sadly Stevie died not long after we re homed him and then there was Robbie.

Robbie and I grew very close, we had a special relationship, soul to soul, one that you don't get very often in life, and he was a constant in mine as I was in his.

I made him his own Tik Tok account and people could watch his videos, and enjoy his company and antics there.

So very tragically, a fox entered his enclosure and Robbie suffered an attack and died.

Of course, I blame myself, I was his protector and I failed.

But so many birds and animals suffer and die without anyone even noticing: some in accidents, some trapped in netting, some as a result of poisoning, the list goes on and on.

I've set this memorial fundraising account up to collect donations for the several wildlife and bird rescues that are in my local area.

These organisations are tireless in their efforts to rescue, treat, rehabilitate and release wild animals after accident, abandonment or injury. And for those that cannot go back into their wild environments, given a home for the rest of their lives, however long or short that might be.

They are all made up of passionate volunteers, giving up their time and energy and I'd like to support them.

Last year I had to relocate, and Robbie and I were lucky enough to have the help of a dear friend to drive through the night carrying us all on our onward journey, arriving in the early hours at our new home in West Sussex.

So, for Cat, this is for you too.

For Robbie, his memory and for the animals we both love.
