Robbie Needs to Heal

My mother Robbie Gunders is one of the most creative, interesting, entertaining, hard working, empathetic and giving souls I have ever met. She has worked her entire life, and worked hard and long. She has been extremely successfull in her careers as a Chef and now a Professional Painter. Her work, over decades has enriched peoples lives and given them an exceptional culnary experience, or, created a beautiful and personalised space for them to live in.

The one thing that my mother is amazing at is giving, she never says no to anyone in need. She is the first person to put others in front of her wants because that is how she rolls.  I have personally witnessed her sacrifice and make do when others' needs have been in the contest. The other thing my mother excells at is not being able to receive what she gives. She is very good at being "amazing" and "all good" and "super" when she is not. Robbie has perfected the art of subterfuge, what you see is not always what you get!

The 23rd of March this year, mum went out to check the rain gague... as you do... and slipped on all the intense moistness of the current deluge that was occurring at the time in Queensland. When she landed, her upper body was cushioned by soft grass, her hip and lower body landed on the brick paving, this was responsible for shattering her hip! Super stressy (for me in Victoria not being there and knowing what was going on) and a very, very painful experience for mum until she received her surgery 2 days later.

So, she is doing well and recovering at home, however, she lives month to month with the earnings of her own business. If she is not out painting houses, then she is not earning the money to pay to live.

What I am hoping for is to cover her rent for the next 12 weeks of recovery. It doesn't seem like much, but I know if we (I am not able to pay it all, or I would) are not able to cover this amount and she is left worrying about how to pay rent, she will DEFINITELY go back to work way before she physically should! I really want to help her avoid that option as I know this could be very detrimental to her recovery in the long term.

If you are able to donate even just a couple of dollars to help, that would be amazing. Also, she has NO idea I am doing this, so if you are a close friend, please don't tell her, because if you are a close friend, you will understand why.

It will help me sleep better (being 2000kms away) knowing she will not extend herself unecessarily and damage herself more worrying about how to pay rent. She literallly would do the same for everyone reading this... That is how she rolls!
