Robbie Meakin’s fundraiser

Hi, my name is Hollie and I am doing a skydive with my dad, Dave, on 29th August 2025 to raise money for Robbie and his fiancé Lauren. This is to help them with any financial needs that they may have.

Robbie was diagnosed with cancer of the colon which had already spread to the liver on 27th April 2025. On 14th May, he was taken into hospital with abdominal pain which was confirmed to be appendicitis. Robbie was taken to theatre first thing the following morning to have this taken out, due to the recovery of this surgery both Robbie & Lauren were made aware that this would delay the start of his cancer treatment.

On 20th June, after the oncology appointment, they were informed that his cancer was at stage 4 and a cure is not possible therefore the chemotherapy is to control it and prolong life by shrinking the cancer but the treatment will not get rid of it. Surgery is not an option at the moment due to the cancer being in 2 separate places however if the chemotherapy can shrink enough he may be able to have a liver transplant and or a stoma bag but all that depends on how it reacts to the treatment which we pray for this miracle. They will do regular scans to see how it’s reacting.

Lauren & Robbie were due to get married on 26th July 2026. Due to this news, they have decided to bring the wedding forward to just a couple of months time. I am hoping this fundraiser can help them with what they need whether that be their wedding, paying bills, or anything Robbie needs during his treatment to make things easier for him.

Robbie has always gone out of his way to get involved in charity fundraising which he is well known for. One time he walked from Birmingham to Villa to West Brom to Walsall to Wolves. Other examples are charity football matches he has organised and played in so now it’s our turn to give back to him. Any shares and donations are greatly appreciated, thank you.
