Robbie Brinson Cancer Donation
Robbie Brinson is a Savannah native and a good friend of mine and many other locals. At the beginning of August, Robbie went to Emory Hospital to find out why he was experiencing central nervous system dysfunction. His symptoms included sensory and balance changes as well as other concerning deficits that were impeding his ability to see, sleep, work, drive, and more. After many tests and procedures, Robbie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma, located in his chest wall, with an associated paraneoplastic syndrome causing neurological dysfunction. The best way to fight this type of cancer is with a combination of intense chemotherapy and a surgery to remove the primary tumor. He may also need additional treatment following his chemo and surgery to help remediate his symptoms. Next week (9/14) Robbie will endure his first round of chemotherapy, which consists of 5 consecutive days of inpatient treatment. He will complete 12 biweekly rounds with alternating cycles of at-home medications and injections.
With the support of his family and friends and his own personal volition, he has remained positive and brave throughout this whole process. He will continue to receive quality care until he is cancer-free. We want his focus to be on fighting this, and any financial relief from his medical expenses will help him do that. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated straight to Robbie to help cover the cost of his treatment. Please pray for a healthy outcome. Thank you.
