Update: Robert is still in the ICU. His pancreas suffered significant damage, which impacts his entire system. His kidney function has improved, however he has a lot of fluid pushing on his organs, including his lungs. His abdomen is filled with fluid and unfortunately has not improved as the doctors had hoped it would over the past 2 days. There are complications with the feeding tube as well, so getting nutrients in his system is difficult. Right now, they are hoping to avoid emergency surgery, but it is touch and go.

At first, we all thought about the aftercare, but we have come to realize that current living expenses and care will be the most immediate need. The funds raised so far will go toward current expenses so he has a home to go back to once released from the hospital. We are so thankful to everyone who has contributed this far!

Robert went to the hospital and was admitted with a bout of pancreatitis. Once in the hospital, he unfortunately contracted the flu. This has continued to ravage his immune system. He has been fighting, but continues to have further complications. It will be a long road to recovery. He has been in the ICU for about 6 days, and they expect him to be in the hospital for anywhere from 1-4 months once all is said and done. Once released from the hospital, he will need physical therapy and continued constant care for at least a few months.

We are fundraising to help him get back on his feet as he recovers and is unable to work. Specifically, we are raising money for living expenses once he is released, including rent, to ensure he has a home to go back to. Once home, he will need help with rent, food, transportation, prescriptions, and much more.

Robert has impacted many of us with his dry humor, brutally funny jokes, and loyal friendship. Any help is greatly appreciated. He needs us to show up now the way he would show up for any and all of us. Anything and everything is so appreciated.
