Emily Chhun was out shopping for a snack in a Safeway she thought was safe. After returning and sitting in her car, a man entered her car and robbed her of her purse, wallet, cash, credit cards and car keys. When the robber found that she only had $50 in her wallet, he got mad and pistol-whipped her, breaking her nose. At home, a couple of days later, she is still in shock and petrified of people. She will need to go back into the hospital for additional surgery she cannot afford and is asking for your help.
As a result, the Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation is stepping up to help Emily in her plea. "It's upsetting that the women and elderly are being targeted in this country. We have to work together to protect and keep them safe," says Carl Chan, President of the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce. Please help Emily Chhun through this unfortunate ordeal and make a donation today.
