On October 2nd, I will be running in my first Spartan Beast Race in Vernon, NJ. Spartan Beast is a half marathon, 30 obstacle race engineered to push you out of your comfort zone and right up to your limits. Competitors race through rugged, unpredictable terrain as they tackle each obstacle.

My goal is not only to finish this race, alive, but to also raise $10,000 for Defy Ventures. Defy’s entrepreneurial programs equip one of America’s largest forgotten communities, the currently and formerly incarcerated, with new skills, new connections, and a new belief to match their new purpose. As a volunteer and advisory board member at Defy, I have seen first hand the impact these programs have and how the course of someones life can be changed.

Please help me raise some funds that will allow us to continue our mission of helping those who are currently and formally incarcerated with the development and funding of their business ideas.
