Rob Tucker's Alternative Cancer Treatment Fund

On Thursday, March 12 our families lives changed forever.  What started out as a stiff neck and a tiny lump, about half the size of a walnut, for my husband would, only two weeks later, ultimately be diagnosed with Metastatic HPV-associated Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Stage 4.

He has been a loyal and proud UPSer for 28 years and hardly ever misses work because he says that when you love your job and the people you work with it's not really working.

We have been together for 29 years and have built a great life and I can't, for one moment, imagine it without him here. We have a wonderful daughter and four amazing grandchildren.  He is always doing for others before he does for us.  I am not saying he is perfect, by any means, but he's pretty great.

On Friday, April 17th, the oncologist at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio told Rob that in order to attempt to kill the cancer that had now spread from his tonsils/oropharnyx to his lungs and lymph nodes in the chest he had to do three kinds of chemotherapy followed by 5 days a week for 7 weeks of radiation. The down side is that the combination of the three chemos and radiation would  cause irreparable kidney damage and stop the salivary glands in his mouth from producing saliva. In the car on the way home he looked at me and I told him that this is his diagnosis, his body and I would support him in whatever his decision and I knew at that moment he was not going to do chemo/radiation so we started looking into some alternative treatments. (High dose IV Vitamin C, Ozone Therapy, UV Light Therapy, Drastic Dietary Changes (removal of all sugar from diet) These treatment and tests are not covered by insurance at all.  He has had some good news in that some of the treatments seem to be reducing the spread of the cancer to his lungs/lymph nodes in the chest.  They want to do surgery and remove his tonsils in the next two weeks, which is a very dangerous procedure for a 59 year old man.

We have sold all our easy quick things and have cashed out IRA's and our life savings is dwindling quickly.  I have gone back to work full-time to keep our heads above water.  We are currently preparing to list the only home we have ever known together to keep funds going. We are asking for prayers, first and foremost, and if you can help in any manner I can not tell you how much our family would appreciate you.
