My name is Daniel Jones. I was a very close friend of Robert Smith who tragically, took his own life on the 4th of March this year.

Anyone who knew Rob, knew he was one of the most creative, funny and gentle souls you could have ever met. He was inspired by the beauty around him that many of us fail to see or appreciate. He was an intelligent, inventive and passionate man. However, akin to many talented people, he often doubted his abilities and was modest about his accomplishments.

On the 3rd April 2025, we will all be saying our final farewells to our Beloved Friend. Son of Barbara and Gordon Smith. Husband of Peggy Farrell. Brother of Ian Smith, Clare Smith and the late, Valerie Reid.

Rob had frequently expressed a burning desire to create a compilation of his greatest works. Therefore, after discussions with his family and closest friend, Jordan Mills, we endeavour to gather and share Rob's poems, stories and art in a physical book in memorial, so his words can live on.

We'd like to invite you to make a donation to help fund the publishing process and then proceeds from sales* will be donated to Mind Teeside who's goal is to to ensure that everyone on Teeside has the knowledge and resources they need to enjoy good mental health and live full happy lives.

Everyone who contributes £10 plus, will receive their own copy as a Thank You for being part of this commemorative project.

*a small percentage of proceeds will be given to a local retailer to cover their costs.
