Robin Sanders & Family Heart Attack Recovery

As many of you know Rob Sanders suffered a massive heart attack on the morning of 12/13 at his home in Montrose. Luckily his wife Joan was there and was able to administer CPR immediately until the Sheriff and then an ambulance arrived. We have been told that Joan and the Sheriff performed great CPR as it did break some ribs and Rob’s sternum. Rob was brought to the Montrose Hospital and after several tests, it was determined that he needed to be transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. Rob is receiving great 24-hour care in the ICU while all of his family and doctors wait for his body to heal and better understand the long-term plan. What we know now is that Sanders Family is currently on a medical path that is a marathon and not a sprint.

The Sanders family had no plans to spend the Christmas season in the ICU. At the moment his wife Joan and their 4 children Kyle, Aaron, Jill, Karlie and their significant others are making the daily trip from Montrose to Grand Junction as it became too costly to stay in Grand Junction full-time. With Rob and Joan currently unable to work and the children taking significant time off work finances are becoming a concern. The last thing we want is for Joan and Rob to worry about money.

The immediate expenses we are hoping to support Rob and Joan with are 2 significant out-of-pocket maximum insurance deductibles totaling over $36K for 2022 & 2023 as well as travel expenses to Grand Junction, home mortgage/utilities and future rehabilitation. The Sanders are a family that would never ask for help but would not think twice to help someone else. Rob has lived in Montrose all his life as a 4th generation rancher as well as a contractor and works at the airport. Rob has supported his community over the years as a soccer coach and 4-H volunteer. Rob is an incredible human being, and we would greatly appreciate any donation and/or prayers for healing at this time. 100% of these donations will be given directly to Rob’s wife of 40 years, Joan Sanders.
