Coach Rob, Rob Recio, had radical kidney cancer surgery on 10/25/2018. He went to the ER the week prior for stomach pain. After numerous CAT scans, the doctor said that “the good news is you only have gastro-reflux, but the bad news is that you have cancer on the right kidney. Our jaws dropped in shock at the news. The doctor proceeded in saying that Coach Rob needed surgery immediately. Fortunately, he was given a few days to process the news and meet with the surgeon. A radical nephrectomy was then completed on Thursday October 25, 2018. It went GREAT! The whole right kidney was removed and it is believed that it is all of the cancer is now gone! Prayers will ensure that everything continues to go perfectly. His family has asked me to assist Coach Rob in reaching out to everyone. Fortunately, he has great health insurance, but no STD or LTD so for the next 4-5 weeks, he will have no income so we are trying to help hold him over until he is cleared to work again.
