Rob Nunes Celebration of Life

Rob “Chickenman” Nunes was a man loved by everyone who met him. He grabbed the bull by the horns and enjoyed every minute of the ride. Rob came to Florida from Rhode Island in his 20's and fell in love instantly with what this state had to offer...sunshine, beaches, surfing, bodyboarding, beach volleyball and ESPECIALLY skydiving. With his vibrant personality and always armed with a joke, Rob became a favorite among his friends. He married Karin Whitely and had two beautiful boys...Robert Bruce Nunes and Philip Michael Nunes. After Karin and Rob went their separate ways after 20 years of marriage they still remained close friends and continued to celebrate holidays and birthdays together as a family. A true testament to the caliber of man Rob was.

Rob had recently moved to Hawaii and loved his job of escorting tourists up one of the most dangerous roads in the world. He adored the people there and was enjoying his life to the fullest. Sadly, Rob left this Earth on November 8, 2022 performing a skydive in his beloved Hawaii. He died doing what he loved most in this world other than his children.

I am hearing from so many friends, family and members of the skydiving community that are feeling the loss of such an amazing person. We are planning a Celebration of Life at Sandpoint Park in Titusville, Florida to honor Rob Nunes and would love for everyone to come enjoy a day of food, drink and live music and Skydiver Ash jump. I think Rob would have loved it and it gives his boys a chance to see the lasting effect their father had on others. Rob deserves this.
