Rob McDonnell Memorial

HI. My name is Laura and I am raising funds for my brother-in-law, Rob McDonnell's medical and funeral expenses.
On December 6, 2021, Rob was diagnosed and admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 even though he was full vaccinated & boostered. He became progressively worse and required transfer into the ICU. Things looked bleak but then there was a glimmer of hope when medications and ventilator settings started to be weaned. Then, on January 2, 2022, shortly after 6am, the small glimmer was suddenly snuffed out. Anne's rock was gone.
Rob was 57 and was the kindest, big hearted, generous guy anyone would be proud to know. He was a front line worker in the beverage industry who was the bread winner for the family. He also was the the sole source of health insurance which will more than likely expire on January 31. And saddest of all, although he planned for most things, he did not plan for his death. He had no life insurance.
Whether he was playing Santa Claus for the school children, tossing pitching practice, or toting softball gear, he was always smiling and full of life.
He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Anne and two children. Justin who is 20 and has Downs Syndrome who also has been plagued by health issues. He was diagnosed with leukemia at 3 and endured 2 years of aggressive chemotherapy before achieving remission. The chemo taxed his heart so much that at 14 he spent 6 weeks in a pediatric ICU on a ventilator and went through 3 open heart surgeries in 2 weeks but thankfully recovered.
Rob's daughter, Meghan, is 17, a senior in high school and plays varsity basketball and softball. With all senior activities fast approaching she is going to miss him deeply. She is the epitome of "Daddy's little girl". She was taught by her Dad that to give of one's self is one of the most important things in life and dose just that by volunteering at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter and the Down's Syndrome Buddy Walks. She is also very smart and continually achieves Distinguished Honors in school. She's accepted to several outstanding universities including Penn State, Oregon, Keuka, Seton Hall, Syracuse and the University of Scranton.
We are looking to raise funds to cover Rob's medical and funeral expenses and establish a college fund for Meghan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
