Rob Mansmann’s GBS hit hard

Update:
Thank you for the outpouring of support for Rob.
He and his wife Patty are so deeply grateful and also honestly a little uncomfortable for all of the generosity that everyone has shown, but as I told him, this is the system. The tribe rallies when it’s time to act.
I’m happy to report that Rob has been discharged from the hospital and is now onto the next phase, involving medication and physical therapy.
He’s in a much better place than he was a few weeks ago, but he’s learning how to walk and use his muscles properly again.
He’s doing really well, but he’s got work to do.
Thank you all again, on behalf of Rob and Patty, for all of the support.

As many of you may know, our good friend Rob Mansmann has been faced with a difficult challenge.
On 9/13 Rob was hospitalized with GBS Guillain–Barré syndrome. This is a rare autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks your nervous system and as a result, Rob lost the use of his legs and arms.
Fortunately, he was hospitalized quickly and treated immediately at Lenox Hill Hospital and responded positively to the treatment. As a result, he is recovering quickly and his hopes for a full recovery are good.
This road will probably be a long one, as most people who are lucky enough to have a full recovery work at it for weeks, months and possibly years. This being said, we are all very hopeful for Rob as he has a great attitude and seems to be ahead of the curve as he works through his hospital Rehabilitation at NYU Langone.
He hopes to be released to home care soon but as you can imagine all these weeks in the hospital are going to result in some large bills.
Rob is proud and very successful as many of you know and the last person to ask for help. He’s also the kind of guy that never let a GoFundMe page cross his desk without contributing his hard earned money. As his friends we are asking you to help and support Rob in his time of need with any amount of money, but more importantly with a note of support and encouragement for him to go forth and work his way back to full recovery. Whatever we can do will help offset those massive co-payments for hospital stays and give all of us the opportunity to help the man who always helps everyone.
Please send your love and support.
