My Goal
Hello and konnichiwa! As you might know, two of my favorite things in the world are running and gaining a greater understanding of Japan, its culture, and people. With this in mind, running the Tokyo Marathon has been a dream of mine for several years! In order to participate in the 2025 Tokyo Marathon as a charity runner, I'm raising funds to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan Foundation! Having traveled to Japan several times since 2016, I've gained a true love for many aspects of Japan but most especially its people. Through kindness, sincerity, and gratitude; the people of Japan have made my travels across their nation far more meaningful than I could have imagined and have helped shape the person I am today. I am so happy to partially repay the kindness the people of Japan have shown me by supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan Foundation's work to provide comfort to children facing illness and their families during the most difficult situations imaginable.
My goal is to raise $2,000 USD for this incredible charity. As this platform takes a 2.9% fee for funds raised here, I will match 10% of each donation so all of your generous contributions go to nothing but the amazing work being conducted by the Ronald McDonald House Charites Japan Foundation.
Thank you so much for your support! Arigatou gozaimasu!

1. Build and operate houses to reach out to patient children and their families
2. Foster a culture of volunteering
3. Create a system where medical care is supported by society
About My Love of Running
In 2018 just before my 2nd trip to Japan, I asked my brother Chris if he could help me get into a sport that can be truly intimidating for newbies. Through my brother's help I was able to go from running zero miles in the early spring to running 3-4 miles every few days in the sweltering summer heat of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Yokohama. Since that time, I've competed in multiple 5ks, half marathons, and three full marathons. I'm excited to begin my journey towards completing all 6 world marathon majors with my first WMM being the Chicago Marathon this October. Running the Tokyo marathon in the Spring of 2025 would undoubtedly be the highlight of my running journey and will be made even more memorable by raising funds for an organization that does so much to support the children of Japan and their caregivers.
