Rob Holmes Recovery Fund

On Friday, August 9th, Rob Holmes had a life changing accident. While on a well-deserved vacation in South Dakota, Rob was hit on his motorcycle head on by another cyclist heading in the opposite direction when that driver failed to navigate a turn.
It was a horrific accident and would have been worse for Rob if not for a triage nurse that happened to be riding in front of him that stopped to aid. She stabilized him before an ambulance could arrive and to her we are forever grateful.
Once he arrived at the hospital, it was confirmed that Rob had three broken toes, a shattered femur, three broken ribs, a punctured lung, two breaks in his collar bone, broken orbital bone and a shattered wrist. Rob had to undergo numerous surgeries and procedures on an emergency basis.
Friday the 16th, he was placed in rehab, with a temporary setback that sent him back to the hospital with an infection. All of this is being done in South Dakota because of the severity not allowing Rob to come home to Fort Smith until a release date of August 29th. His brother, Richard, has been by his side since day two will drive him home.
All of you who know Rob know what an honest, hardworking, and caring person he is. You also know that he is the kind of person who doesn’t ask or expect things from others.
Unfortunately, even though the accident was the complete fault of the other driver, that person was woefully under-insured and Rob’s bills are expected to exceed $250,000, way over that driver’s policy limits.
This is creating a real and devastating hardship on Rob, at the same time of rendering him not being able to work while trying to recover and overcome some incredibly painful, serious injuries.
Rob’s physical and mental recovery is going to be long and hard. As friends and family members of Rob’s, we started this GoFundMe to help ease his financial burden just a little. Hopefully this will let him focus a little more on the hard road of recovery that awaits him.
Please consider making a donation of whatever you can. You know Rob is a giver, not a taker, a hard worker and just a good person. Through no fault of his own, he is suddenly in this tragic situation.
If we all give a little, collectively we can make a big difference to help out one of the good guys.
Thank you!
