On September 27th our friends Rob Howard and Heather Orr unexpectedly welcomed the very early arrival of their beautiful son Hale. For those of you that don't know, little Hale is no less than a miracle.
He was born 15 weeks early (at 24 weeks, 5 days into Heather's pregnancy). He weighed in at 1 pound, ten ounces and was 13 inches long. Most importantly, he was delivered safely and was immediately active and as healthy as a micro-premie can be.
As you can imagine, Heather and Rob are deeply in love with Hale and want to bring him home as soon as possible. However, because of his early entry into the world, Hale remains in the NICU in Santa Clara and will not be strong enough to come home until sometime in January (near his original due date).
Hale is doing very well but Rob and Heather are under considerable stress as they trek back and forth daily to see their son and be by his side. Because of the need to be with him, neither Heather, nor Rob are working until Hale comes home.
This presents a financial challenge for them that adds unnecessary stress to an already taxing situation.
This is were you come in. Whatever donation you can spare will help tremendously with travel and life expenses during this time. Those of you that know Rob and Heather know that they are both kind, generous, and hardworking individuals.
Most of all, though, they are great people and fantastic friends that need a little help as they get to know their little "Hale-storm"!
