UPDATE ON HOW YOU CAN STILL HELP 3/2024
Dear Family and Friends,
To those of you who have been a part of our journey from Rob’s passing, through his funeral and now into the future, as we all learn how to go on with our lives - Our family is grateful.
To every person who has reached out in any way to sustain us, we cannot imagine how we would have gotten through without all the love, prayers, written notes, meals, encouraging words, hugs, and monetary support. Thank you.

3/1/2024 *** UPDATE
I would like to update you on the GoFundMe that was started to help with the expenses required for Rob’s funeral. Due to the circumstances of Rob passing in San Diego, and the desire of the family to bring him home to Oregon for burial, the financial burden has been as heavy as it has been unexpected. The costs incurred have been placed on credit by his parents.
We are grateful for the gifts that have been coming in to cover this burden, following is a breakdown of the need that remains.
Funeral $7030.00
Plot $800.00
Cemetery expenses $2100.00
Flight $670.00
Misc. expenses $250.00
In addition to the $4022 already raised by the GoFundMe, $950 has been given as cash gifts leaving a remaining balance of $5892.
Rob’s place of internment is at Beavercreek Memorial Cemetery located at 22470 Kamrath Rd Oregon City OR 97045. At this writing his grave is unmarked as his headstone has not been purchased. (The family hopes to do this with any additional donations that come in. SO it's a great way to help!) In case you want to visit, his grave is located in the row closest to the road and below the sign. His “Uncle George” is adjacent to him. Uncle George's headstone is easy to spot as it is a ledger stone that covers the entire top of the grave.
Please share this on your social media or via text to help us get the word out. Much Appreciated!
From Kateen:
My brother Rob Fitzgerald passed away unexpectedly last week.
He was the greatest of brothers, sons, uncles, friends. The most loving, and loved by many. He was fun, funny, adventurous, a world traveler with a huge and generous heart. He spent his life caring for his family and friends, helping orphans, building businesses that create positive change in the world, and supporting others in so many ways. He has made a big impact on many of our lives.
It is mine and my family's desire to bring him to Oregon from Southern California, to be closer to his family where we will gather and celebrate his life together.
We have an immense amount of love and emotional support coming in to help us through this time, and to all of you who have reached out, I am overwhelmingly grateful for you all.
If you are interested in supporting us with the financial aspects of this process, such as travel expenses, and food, as we take care of affairs in California, as well as for the transportation of my brother, the funeral or other necessary services, it would be a huge blessing.
I have attached below a few different ways you can support us. (You can of course donate here on gofundme.)

If you knew Rob, you know that he was a great explorer in every sense of the word, and storyteller. It is my wish that we continue to tell the stories of his many adventures, that he may live on through them.
This is a link to a Documentary Rob created with some friends on one of his great motorcycle adventures while helping support single mother's in Mexico.
The Other Side
If you have any photos or videos of Rob that you would like to share with the family, you can share them to the album below
"There are too many ways to write how much I love you and how much I will miss you. For the sake of this post, I will just say; you will be greatly missed, because the impact you have had in our lives has been GREAT… I love you brother.
We will see you on the other side."
