Rob Carl Medical Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday, August 18th, the Carl family had the scare of a lifetime.  Michelle found herself administering CPR to Rob, who had stopped breathing. He had no pulse and was cold to the touch. Once in the ambulance, paramedics got him transported to the Fort Atkinson hospital, where he stopped breathing again.  As the family waited for a medical helicopter to transport Rob to St. Mary's in Madison, they were told he would likely not survive the flight.

At St. Mary's, Rob was diagnosed with Legionnaire's Disease. Due to his diabetes, Rob's blood sugar levels reached a high of 855. He was placed in a medically induced coma (cold coma) for 48 hours with breathing and feeding tubes, before being warmed up and having the breathing tube removed. The feeding tube remains due to complications from the breathing tube.

Presently, Rob is awake and able to recognize all of his family. He is able to walk a bit with assistance, and he is out of intensive care. The road to recovery, however, will be long, including several weeks of rehab. Rob is also working with a therapist for memory issues he is experiencing.

Michelle and the kids have rarely left his side. It is uncertain at this time when Rob will be able to go home. Even more uncertain is when he will be able to go back to work to help support his family.

We are asking for prayers and monetary support in any amount to help offset the mounting medical bills for Rob's hospital stay and recovery. Please pray for the Carl family and donate if you are able.
