Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease

Hi,

My name is Ian, and a couple of months ago, my brother Phil Long was diagnosed with MND. We grew up in Seacroft (Leeds) and have been lifelong followers of Leeds Rhinos. Therefore, the connection to the Rob Burrow MND Centre appeal at Seacroft Hospital is very close to our hearts.

During the Covid lockdown, I took up the BBC 'Couch to 5k' challenge. I had never taken up running before as my preference for exercise was via 5-a-side football, Cricket, and later - Golf. In addition, the incredible running feats performed by Sir Kevin Sinfield for his best buddy Rob Burrow have encouraged me to attempt to raise funds through my own running challenge.

My challenge is to complete 100 5k runs or 500k by the end of next summer (giving some allowance for severe weather and injury) and, in doing so, raise funds for the Rob Burrow MND Centre appeal.
