Rob Burgess - Budgie

As some of you are aware, our mate Rob (Budgie) recently received some devastating news that no one should ever have to hear.
Rob was previously diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and being the person he is, managed to battle it. Rob turned this experience into a positive and after receiving the all-clear, decided to make the most of life. He started a fitness journey which he excelled at and absolutely loved (alongside his surfing of course). Anyone who spoke to him commented on how strong he had been through the ordeal and how positive he was about life.
In an extremely cruel twist of fate, Rob has recently been informed that devastatingly, the cancer is back and there is not much the doctors can do this time around. Rob is a husband, father, brother, a son, and a friend to so, so many. Rob would have touched many lives, not just in Mumbles and West Cross, but across Swansea with his business Pren Caled and is also well known in many of the pubs around Mumbles for recuperating with a pint after work. We are sure everyone has already, or will say to Rob and his family, “let me know if I can do anything”. So, let's actually try and do something meaningful for him, Lauren, Morgan, Mali, his Mum, Dad, Sister and extended family, and let’s try and make the rest of the time they have left together as memorable as possible. Rob is currently in hospital recovering from his most recent operation, but will hopefully be out in the foreseeable future, and we would like to try and raise some money so they can enjoy their time together.
We will also be carrying out more fundraising moving forward to help support his family when the worst happens and if anyone has any ideas for fundraising activities, please let us know. As we all know, Rob is an avid surfer, so anything beach related we think will be close to his heart. Also, if anyone has any ideas on how we can help create some memories for them, donating tickets etc. please get in touch. Whilst Rob's life is cruelly ending far sooner that it ever should be, it doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to live the time he has left to the fullest with his family and friends. So let's all dig deep and support them all.
