Rob battles for time with his girls

My name is Kim Fix, and I'm starting this "Go Fund Me" campaign for my younger brother, Rob Stoss, who has been battling cancer since 2013. I'm hoping to raise enough money to help with medical and household expenses so Rob and his family can concentrate on surgery, treatments and recovery without needing to worry about the bills piling up. Rob has just been diagnosed with lung cancer. He just finished going through extensive surgeries and aggressive radiation
and chemo therapy for his stage IV throat cancer. He was finally getting stronger and then got hit with this current diagnosis.
Rob and his wife Michelle live in Ohio with their 2 little girls, Ella and Aubrey and my 96 year old Grandma Bea. Ella just turned 8 and Aubrey is 5 years old. Ella was diagnosed in late 2012 with mixed hearing loss in both ears. She requires hearing tests annually and adjustments to her hearing aids that insurance doesn't cover.
Michelle and Rob are the kind of people that open their hearts and home to everyone without asking anything in return. They are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. They would never ask for financial help for themselves, so I am starting this fund to support this generous and loving family. Many of you probably know the heartache and helplessness of watching a loved one struggle with a severe illness and you are not able to take on any of the burden yourself. I hate to see them worrying about bills while trying to stay positive through this trying time.
Rob owns his own business and Michelle is an LPN. Unfortunately, because Rob took some time away from his business to watch his daughters before they were school age and take care of our Grandma, he does not qualify for social security disability. He is trying to keep his business going while dealing with his health issues, but it's a struggle. Due to his tracheotomy, he has to be very careful around dust, chemicals etc.
In November 2013 Rob was diagnosed with Stage I throat cancer. It was decided radiation would be the best course of treatment, and after 2 months of radiation treatment we thought he had beaten it.
Next came a little over a year of normal scans that were cancer free. Then, near Rob's 50th birthday, came the shocking diagnosis of Stage IV throat cancer. How had it progressed so rapidly in between scans? We'll never know. There were many times during the next six months of numerous surgeries including a tracheotomy, removal of a jugular vein and radiation and chemo therapy that we thought we were going to lose Rob, but he is a fighter and never quit. Rob would do or give anything to have the years to see his daughters grow and prosper.
I can't adequately express in words the admiration, love and respect I have for my brother and his wife, Michelle, and the strength and courage they've shown through this difficult stage in their life. I am hoping your generosity will help ease the financial burden this loving and generous family has experienced and is still facing. Please donate today.
