Petru Bolun is on a journey,  we are asking that you join him. It has been 28 years since Lennox Lewis won a gold medal for Canada, Boxing Canada has also been in a 20 year podium drought.  Canada's last medal in boxing  was a silver won by David Defiagbon at the 1996 olympics. I believe Petru is the boxer to end this drought, every bout he has been in, it is his arm that was raised at the end, 90% of his bouts have been won by KO or TKO. In November Petru attended the Canadian Western Championships where the best contenders from the western provinces of Canada met to compete. Petru stopped both of his competitors one with a knock out the other with a TKO. He then went on to compete at the Oylmpic Quailfier in Montreal  Dec 5-10 of this year which he also walked away with 2 wins against the best in canada. Those 2 victories earned him a spot on the Canadian Olympic team. Winning comes easy to the highly dedicated and motivated boxer. He trains 6 days aweek and also attends SAIT full time in Calgary, Alberta. The hard part for this 20 year old is the funding, Boxing Canada is located in Montreal,  therefore Petru has to travel to montreal to attend testing and training camps for the Olympics.  If he misses one he is off the Canadian Olympic team. Boxing is a lonely sport, countless times growing up your friends are out having a good time and you are in the gym building your craft with nothing but those 5 rings in your mind standing on the podium with the canadian flag behind you. I have  sponsored this kid on his journey for a while now.  The first time I met petru was at a provincail tournament during the weigh ins. I had a short chat with him and although he is from a different boxing club.  What he said and the look in his eyes when he said it, I knew right then Alberta had a world champion in its mist, he said "Im a boxer I didnt come here to lose I came here to win and I intend to do that" which he has been doing every since. The money raised will be used for transportion to the testing and training camps ect. that he must attend, the first trip to Montreal will cost petru $700 for air fare. lets help this athelete reach his goal,  when hes standing on the podium at the 2016 Rio Olympics, you will know that you played a role in helping him get there.
