*New update 3/12/18 posted in updates*
So the latest update (4/25 at approx 6:30 pm) is that i went ahead and took the leap and drove Morgan up to Upstate Veterinary Specialists in Greenville SC, to see if they would accept us, since we couldn't get an appt. until tomorrow, which I feel like would be pushing it (plus I have to go back to work!) The good news is, they agreed to see her and accept her, and her surgery will happen tomorrow. They did additional scans and bloodwork to make sure all organs looked good, and she tested HW negative with noraml bloodwork results! The bad news is the price has (once again) gone up, and this is betting on everything goes as planned. I paid the $3000 today out of pocket, so that plus my lovely crown I had to have this morning (also out of pocket) put me at pretty much the most money I've ever spent in one day in my life! Below are pics of her care team as well as the surgery estimates and reciept. Everyone at the clinic was amazed that I was willing to spend this money on a dog I only just met a few days ago, but I had to tell them we had a whole team behind us, and it is all of us together that are helping. I am merely the vessel upon which she was delivered, the rest of the animal warriors are right behind us. THANK YOU again to everyone. I will continue to keep you updated (and try not to annoy you). Surgery is set for tomorrow, and I will get a call in the morning giving me a timeline for time of surgery, recovery, and when she gets to come back home! It will be a little harder for me to keep everyone updated while I'm at work tomorrow, but I will do my best!

***UPDATE***
Met with the surgeon that was to repair the broken femur this afternoon, and it is concluded that she will need a plate in her pelvic bone and her femur. He will not be able to perform the pelvic surgery and therefore she will have to go a Orthopedic Specialist. Cost has escalated from $1,200-$1,500 to now $2,000-$5,000 (not including aftercare). I will not be able to pay for this surgery in full, but I'm telling you this dog deserves it. At least half of the $5,000 needs to be raised in order to proceed, and we have very little time. If the money is not raised in time (by the end of 4/25/17) I will refund in full the money to all that have donated. Please, Please I beg of you to help me save her life.

First, I want to thank everyone for their interest in helping this sweet girl. "Morgan" as she has been dubbed, was found on the side of the road (HWY 64 going into Morganton, NC) on 4/23/2016. It was super rainy and cold, and I was headed to Morganton to the feed store. We (my fiance and I) passed a dog sitting only 2-3 ft from the road in the pouring rain. I knew no dog would be sitting on the side of a super busy hwy in the wet and cold for no reason. We turned around and I jumped out of the car as quickly as possible, because we couldn't fully pull out of the road due to a ditch. I approached the dog and immediately realized my worse fears, that she had been hit. Without hesitation I immediately scooped her up, and this is where the story leads us. First off "Morgan" is extremely thin. No microchip, only a lime green collar with no tags. Looks to be (and comfirmed by vet) full-blooded Border Collie. Today she had X-rays and it was confirmed she has a fractured femur just above the knee on the right side, and another break to the bone that connects to the spine on the left side, and a fractured pelvis. She will require surgery and will be referred from the initial attending vet to someone for qualified to perform the surgery, because of the positioning of the femur break. She will require a plate in the femur. We are currently waiting on info from the Orthopedic Specialist of the initial vets choosing, and I will update as I get more info. Intitial vet believes surgery costs o be anywhere from $1200-$1800 (could be more). I WILL NOT give up on this girl, even if her owners have. If you are unable to help financially, prayers and good wishes are just as important and just as appreciated. Initial attending Vet is Dr. Pam Poteat at Forest City Animal Hospital in Forest City, NC. If you would like to confirm they do have a Facebook page with their phone number listed, but I will not list it here out of respect for them. The Orthopedic Surgery will be performed as soon as we can get a refferal and an appt. The Community Pet Center (a 501c3) organization will also be accepting donations on behalf of Morgan for those that would feel more comfortable donating to an organization rather than an individual. I would also like to speak on behalf of Morgan, she has been nothing but an angel and extremely trusting of me from the very beginning of our journey together, and she deserves to live out a long, healthy happy life. She is still very young and has so much left to see and do. Thankyou so much from the bottom of my heart.
You can also make donations to the Community Pet Center via PayPal for those more comfortable giving to a 501c3 verified organization. Please write "Morgan" in the comments. You can go to their Facebook page at the link below to make a donation
