I'm not the kind of person who asks for help; my family doesn't like to ask for help, especially from strangers/family/friends... but we found ourselves in a massive bind.

I was with my child at Cub Scout Camp at the start of fall break and I received a call from my family that my wife was in massive pain. She was taken to the local ER by my brother. We cut our trip short and I went to the ER to find out what was going on. What she thought was kidney stones turned out to be much more! She had a massive (I'm told small melon size) ovarian cyst which flipped in what is called ovarian torsion and it flipped in a bad way causing tons of pain. She was sent to another hospital nearby that specialized in women's health. Within an hour, she was admitted into the OR and prepped for immediate surgery. Good news is that she is out and resting! Bad news is that we are both freelancers without health insurance.

As the world has made it difficult to obtain affordable insurance on a medium income, we now hold a massive debt coming our way. To top it off, we had plans to go to the beach for her upcoming birthday/vacation and now that expense is no longer refundable. My family will have to cancel and lose all deposits on the stay, adding insult to injury.

If you have read this far, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find it in your heart to help. I have no clue how much this is gonna cost but I guarantee it's gonna borderline cripple us without that help.

I can't stress enough how much it pains me to ask for community help, but please! I'm beyond ecstatic that the surgery went well, but now the long healing process comes and the burden we bear.
