Hi, I'm Ty!

I want to take a moment to tell you a little about myself. I’m a transmasculine person from Madison, WI and am a Special Education Assistant at a Madison Middle School. I work closely with students who need extra support to show the world how amazing they are.

I realized early on that I didn’t fit neatly into a specific gender. I have worked hard discovering who I am on the inside and making my outside complement that. I'm incredibly excited and fortunate to have the opportunity to take a huge step in feeling comfortable in my body. I've been dealing with dysphoria related to my chest for a really long time, and feel that getting what's commonly referred to as "top surgery" would alleviate that, and allow me to live a happier and more complete life.

I have been approved for this surgery and I’m so fortunate that my insurance will cover most of it, however-as an hourly worker- I don’t have paid time off, which means that the time I take off to recover from my surgery will be difficult financially!

I am asking for donations, which is completely out of my comfort zone, but I don’t want to let this opportunity pass by and I don’t want to rush back to work before I’m healed and and able to work with the kids I care for deeply.
