My name is LEO SAMMARELLI, and I am an adaptive athlete born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. At a young age I had a passion for sport's and excelled winning multiple competitions and titles, my goal was to become an OLYMPIC CHAMPION as a boxer.
Unfortunately, in 2017 my boxing dreams were shattered after suffering a spinal cord injury which left me permantly paralysed from the waist down.
Despite not being able to use my legs I haven't given up on my goal. I'd like to become a PARALYMPIC CHAMPION!
I compete in Para Nordic Sit Skiing, Handcycling and Wheelchair Racing and I am spearheading a campaign to one day make Wheelchair Adaptive Boxing a New Olympic Sport!
I have set up this Go Fund Me Page to help me achieve my dream of qualifying for the Paralympic Games which will take place in China, March 4-13th 2022. I am planning to represent Canada in Cross Country Skiing. Monies raised will allow me to focus more on training and less on working to support myself during this 6 month stretch, leading up to the Canadian Qualifiers in Dec 2021.
In addition, proceeds $$ will be used for:
New high-performance skies and sit ski equipment
Training camp in Revelstoke
Traveling expenses for the World Cup event for IPC points.

I have worked tirelessly and relentlessly after my injury to retrain myself in mind, body and spirit. I have pushed limits and done challenges and feats that people thought were impossible and have raised money for disability programs in and around my community.
