Help Ernie reach the BHS International Chorus Contest

Hello! My name is Ernie, and I'm preparing to travel to Denver, where I'll be taking part in the Barbershop Harmony Society's international convention. It's a week long event, centered around two contests and I'll be singing with The Masters of Harmony chorus in the chorus competition. The convention is amazing; it highlights the best a cappella singing and singers of our style from around the world!

I've been singing with this group of guys for more than a decade. That has meant being a part of the journey we've taken, from competing at the highest level, to rebuilding after the COVID shutdown and now returning to the contest stage to take a shot at the top. What is a more personal goal for me, though, is that someone in the audience forgets about anything else for a few minutes and just has as much fun watching and listening as I have performing.

A little about me and my role:

I'm a member of our tenor section, this is the group of men in the chorus who sing the high harmonies.

I currently fill the role of front row captain. Our front row is a group who are not only strong singers, but excellent visual performers

I have been a featured soloist, dancer, and recently a member of leadership in our music committee.

I absolutely love what I do, on stage and during rehearsals

That brings me to why I'm asking for help. This convention is worth every moment and all of the preparation leading up, but is expensive. I currently work as a kitchen steward at Disneyland. I'll be starting a role as a trainer soon, but am a part time cast member for now. The contest will take me away from work for a full week and will have cost over a thousand dollars after registration, travel, lodging and food, before any extra or leisure expenses. I'm hoping you will consider helping me reach my goal and reach the stage.
