Road to Recovery for Lee Woudenberg Hoeland

Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 9th my very dearest friend Lee Woudenberg Hoeland was involved in a very serious car accident.  The accident required her to be cut out of her wheelchair accessible van.  Thankfully, Amanda, Lee's daughter with special needs was not with her at the time of the accident.  For those of you that don't know Lee, she is a mother to three daughters - Samantha, Amanda and Courtney.  Amanda is wheelchair bound and not at all self sufficient.  She requires 24/7 care which is provided by her incredible mother.  Lee is the most selfless mother and person I have ever met.  She has never once complained about being a single Mom who is constantly "on the clock".  With Samantha recently married and living in New Jersey and Courtney off to college in Michigan, Lee has taken on the role of being the sole caretaker of Amanda.  She ensures Amanda's quality of life is exceptional, enrolling her an adult day program for socialization opportunities and bringing her along to watch Courtney play her first year of college lacrosse.  She is an advocate for her daughter in every aspect of life.  Despite the weight she carries on her shoulders, Lee NEVER complains.  She is quick to help others, whether they are close friends or a stranger needing some assistance.  She is the kindest, sweetest sole of anyone I have ever met.  They say "things happen for a reason", but my heart is breaking as I search for a reason that this has happened to such a wonderful person.
While we are all so thankful that Lee is okay (in the grand scheme of things), this recovery that she faces will be an uphill battle as she has suffered some very serious injuries.  Some which will require surgeries in the near future.  She has six broken ribs, two broken ankles and two serious back fractures.  The wheelchair accessible van that Lee was driving is totaled.  This van was the only means of transportation that she and Amanda had.  It was truly a lifeline for them.  While Lee is in a great deal of pain, I know that her greatest concern is simply that she is unable to care for Amanda right now.  Due to this accident she will be unable to care for Amanda alone for quite some time as she will be facing months of rehabilitation.  Thankfully her sister Patty and brother-in-law Pascal are near by to  help out.
Anyone who knows Lee know that she leads an extremely modest life and never asks for anything.  In fact, I am not sure how she will initially feel when she sees this request for her.  She is a giver, never a taker.  The daunting costs she will now be facing following this horrific accident will be mountainous.  I know that there are several people besides myself that want to help in any way possible.  The costs that will need to be covered include medical attention for her multiple injuries, help and additional care for Amanda, and a new van that can accommodate Amanda and her wheelchair.  She will also need to replace a custom car seat that is no longer safe to use.  She will be unable to work for some time and will need to focus on her health and rehabilitation.  Please consider helping Lee by donating to this fund.  You can also donate directly to Lee by sending a check made payable to Lee Hoeland to my address and I will be sure she gets it.  My address is Tammy Dubuque, 1133 Goffle Road; Hawthorne, New Jersey 07506.  Please continue to pray for her as well. Thank you in advance for helping Lee.❤
