My name is Jess, and I am fundraising for my good friend's daughter, Leah Juarez. Leah is a sophomore and star athlete at Horizon High School, and on Tuesday, February 6th, she suffered a catastrophic spine injury during wrestling practice. Unable to feel or move her legs, she was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where X-rays revealed that she fractured her spine. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to UMC where she underwent emergency surgery and is currently in ICU with a team of doctors monitoring and planning her care.
There are many more tests ahead, and she'll be in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time. Additionally, Leah will require six months to a year of rehabilitation, most of which will probably be out-of-town. Despite the long road ahead, Leah is taking all of this like the brave, strong young woman that she is.
I have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the financial burden for Leah's parents, Michael, Alexandra, and Veronica. Over the next days, weeks, and months ahead they will need to be at countless doctor appointments, hospital stays, and surgeries.
All funds raised will be used for Leah's road to recovery, including her numerous medical bills, out-of-town travel to rehab centers and specialists, leaves of absence for her parents, and other expenses. This will enable the Juarez Family to concentrate on Leah's recovery from this devastating accident.
I humbly ask that you please share this link with friends and family and, if possible, in giving (any amount will help). Thank you for your support!!!
