Hi, my name is Stephanie Eversole and Jack is 19 years old and is a long time family friend, and now also our Employee for Koester’s Flooring. He recently became a Pre-Apprentice with Local 4 Carpenters union. Unfortunately, Jack suffered a severe asthma attack on Friday, March 8th around 5:30pm, that almost caused him to lose his life. For the first time ever he lost consciousness and stopped breathing. The ambulance rushed him to the hospital doing the breathing for him and he was intubated quickly after arriving. Around 11pm he was transferred to Iowa City and still had not gained consciousness and the ventilator was doing all breathing for him. Jack continued to have a rough night, his heart is enlarged and is overworking itself among some other complications. Thankfully, Jack finally was able to wake up on Saturday, however he is still not 100% breathing on his own but they are hopeful he is heading in the right direction but will be a slow, long recovery for him. He is still currently in MICU and is not allowed visitors other than his family as a precaution and as their rules. They are working on the goal of getting him out of ICU and breathing on his own and into regular recovery care and then he could possibly have more visitors. Jack recently started a new job and will be off work for the time being, he will have medical expenses and his family have not left his side. Please help Jack and his family offset some of their costs, so they can continue to be there for him. This can be one less stress for them. In the meantime please keep praying for him ❤️❤️ life can change so quick.
Please reach out to me or his mom Sara if you you would like to donate in any other way! I know they will greatly appreciate it!
